Clinical Evidence Base
Clinical evidence for ceramic-on-ceramic hip resurfacing demonstrates consistent early and mid-term performance across international multicentre studies. At two years, patients show significant improvements in pain, function and activity, with stable fixation and low early revision rates. At five years, outcomes remain durable, with high implant survival and consistent results across patient groups, including those traditionally considered higher risk.
Together, these data support the continued evolution of hip resurfacing, maintaining the established principles of the procedure while addressing historical limitations associated with metal-on-metal bearings.
