MatOrtho Ltd are pleased to see Andy Murray’s hip x-ray showing a BHR, we wish him well and have every confidence he has taken a good route to get back to high level activity.
Did you know that Mike Tuke, the founder owner of Finsbury Orthopaedics and current owner Chairman of MatOrtho®, was responsible for the initial development and manufacture of Metal on Metal hip resurfacing with Mr Derek McMinn from 1989? It was Finsbury that went on to develop the manufacturing and made all BHR implants until 2009, (all those with long term results).
Finsbury, now morphed into MatOrtho®, have continued with the ADEPT® Hip Resurfacing System, which was developed to take up improvements on the BHR; ADEPT® was first used in 2004 and demonstrates excellent survivorship in the UK & Australian National Joint Registries that rivals the BHR.
References to this information and more can be found in the AdeptClinical Data Summary. The ADEPT® resurfacing System has been awarded a 10A ODEP rating.
