Medially Stabilised TKR Designs are More Sagittally Stable
A/Prof Andrew Shimmin, MBBS, FRACS, presented at the Orthopedics Today Hawaii meeting held in Koloa, Hawaii on 12th – 16th January 2020.
His presentation, titled ‘Medially stabilized TKR Designs’ shared his views and offered evidence to support that Medially stabilized TKR designs are more sagittally stable and studies have shown better patient-reported outcomes with their use.
“The native knee is not symmetrical. Most TKR designs are symmetrical. Sagittal stability, whatever the design, achieves better patient-reported outcomes,” Said A/Prof. Shimmin.
